Leonardo Aaron, also known as Len, employs a mixed-media approach in his abstract paintings, utilizing oil, water-based, and acrylic paints on canvas stretched over gallery wrap stretcher bars.
Born in Antigo, Wisconsin in 1917, Aaron began crafting his distinctive abstract style in the 1950s, during his forties. Renowned as the co-founder and former president of Aaron Brothers Art Mart Stores, Aaron’s lifelong dedication to art and framing informs his expressive creations.
Many collectors observe similarities between Aaron’s style and that of Jackson Pollock. Aaron acknowledges this resemblance with a grin, attributing his process to the act of painting while swinging on his backyard swing. This motion leaves its mark on the canvas, serving as a testament to the dynamic nature of life, an ethos he seeks to convey through his art.
