More about this artist: Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky, born on December 16, 1866, in Moscow, was a Russian painter and art theorist. Kandinsky is generally credited as one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art. Although he initially pursued a career in law and economics, he began his painting studies at the age of 30. “Green Border,” an original painted in 1919, showcases Kandinsky’s mastery of modern abstract art. This lithograph, signed and numbered, reflects the artist’s influential contribution to the world of abstraction.
